BUFFALO GIRLS

ORIGINALLY AIRED APRIL 30, 1995 ON CBS
DIRECTED BY ROD HARDY

Wild. Untamed. Legendary. Buffalo Girls celebrates the bold escapades of tough-talking Calamity Jane Canary and her illustrious cohorts. It’s the waning days of the Wild West and Jane, the rough ‘n’ rugged cowgirl, is searching not only for her long-lost daughter, but the Wild West she once knew. Jane traverses plains, mountains and continents until she finally discovers the answer to her problems: Dora, the vivacious, gold-hearted madam who’s been her one true friend all along.

REBA RECALLS...

What a dream come true to get to be Annie Oakley in a CBS TV movie in 1995!!!!! Angelica Houston, Melanie Griffith, Gabriel Byrne, Peter Coyote, Tracey Walter, Floyd “Red Crow” Western, Jack Palance, Liev Schreiber and Sam Elliott were also in the movie. I’m good friends with Jack Palance’s daughter, Holly Palance. I got to know her when I moved to Los Angeles. Shelby went to school with his grandson, Spencer, also in Los Angeles.

We shot the movie in Albuquerque, New Mexico and in Bath England. I loved doing this movie. The costumes, the script, the places we got to film – all of it was terrific! After shooting in Bath, Mama, Alice, Pam Keller and I took the train up to St. Andrews, Scotland where my ancestors were from.
